The Civil Construction program provides existing building and construction workers with training that focuses on the safety requirements of the industry and the associated requirements of licensing and regulatory authorities, such as Workplace Health and Safety, and National Units out of the RII resource infrastructure Industry Training Package. For workers, obtaining a range of relevant skills can help them to increase employment opportunities by being able to perform a range of jobs and respond to emerging skills and labour shortages.

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in an operational role in civil construction, who undertake a prescribed range of tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental knowledge, in a defined context working under supervision.

This course lets you get a taste of the exciting and booming civil construction industry before you move into further study and a career as a civil construction worker.

Entry Requirements

To be able to enrol this training course with TP Training, participants must:

  • Have a current SafeWork NSW White Card (or equivalent)
  • Provide 1 form of photo identification documentation, such as driver’s licence or passport. Within these documents, you must be able to show your photo ID, date of birth, signature, and current residential address.
  • Have physically ability to demonstrate required tasks
  • Provide Unique Student Identifier (USI) number
  • Complete TP Training Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment

This training course combines plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills. Attendance

Participants are expected to attend all scheduled classes for training and assessment.

Training & Assessments

Training of this qualification will include

  • classroom activities
  • theory questionnaires and group activities
  • practical demonstration and observation

All assessment must be completed within 24 months of the commencement date. Students will be provided with learning resources for each unit to support their learning and assessment.

Assessment types may include

  • written questions
  • case studies
  • research tasks
  • project
  • observation / demonstration
  • third party report

Students will be provided with three (3) attempts for each assessment tasks. If students are unable to complete an assessment task satisfactory after the third (3) attempt, they may choose to attend the full unit training again. Certification

On successful completion of the entire course you will be awarded a nationally recognised RII20720 Certificate II in Civil Construction testamur with an academy transcript. On successful completion of some units but not the full course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment listing all units of competency completed successfully.
